FAQ For Families

Who is beverly right for?

Beverly was built for modern families in high-performing settings who instinctively know today's childcare could be vastly improved. It is built for families who know building our civilization, reducing the stress of managing childcare, and ensuring their children are cared for by the best should not be mutually exclusive. Whether you’re a high-impact professional, entrepreneur, or someone seeking a reliable childcare setup, our team is here to design and manage solutions tailored to your family’s needs while keeping you in full control.

Why should I hire Beverly instead of doing it on my own?

Because managing childcare shouldn't be your second job. Beverly not only eliminates the time-consuming tasks of searching, finding, vetting and coordinating qualified childcare providers, but also gives you access to an elite assistant, expert team who relentlessly search for the best options—giving you peace of mind, saving 100s of hours of effort, and creating more time to enjoy with your family, while staying in full control.

How does the membership work?

Beverly operates on a streamlined model designed for flexibility. Your one-time Membership fee gives you access to our advisors and allows you to kick-off or pause any services within Beverly service offerings based on your specific needs. It also give you access to "Support Essentials" for one year, for free.

Membership unlocks three core service paths:

Support Essentials
Best for parents who want to DIY their childcare setup with the right support. Beverly helps you clarify your needs, structure your search, help you run background checks and verifications for your candidates, setup payroll and give you tools to properly manage & incentivize your caregivers.

Backup
Designed for families who want reliable short-notice coverage. We help you find and maintain a trusted pool of backup caregivers, and step in when you need help sourcing coverage due to travel, illness, schedule gaps, or unexpected disruptions.

Long-Term
For families looking to hire a long-term nanny or caregiver. We manage the end-to-end search: sourcing, screening, interviews, trials, and support through the decision process to help you make a confident hire.

You can start with one service and move between services over time—membership keeps your family profile, preferences, and history on file so every search builds on what you already shared without having to repeat yourself.

If I just need support after I find my own hire, is membership still worth it?

Yes. The Support Essentials plan is engineered exactly for this scenario.

If you prefer to source your own caregiver, but require professional oversight on contracts, payroll compliance, insurance, and background checks, this plan provides the expert "safety net" you need, so you can move faster with peace of mind.

How does working with Beverly differ from a traditional virtual assistant or staffing agency?

If agency model worked until now, we wouldn't have started Beverly. Our model redesigns everything as a systems and coordination problem with multiple layers for contingency. On the caregiver side, we build continuous relationships across our entire network, which greatly enhances accountability and reduces instances of sub-par performance. We introduce performance management after placements to up-level the way caregivers show up. When hiring our own team we look for aptitude and a history of high performance, then give them trust and technology so they can deliver unprecedented outcomes for our clients. Unlike staffing agencies, our goal is to create an entire childcare coordination system you can rely on that is designed to adapt with your family and give you access to more top 1% childcare options, faster.

What are Beverly's selection criteria for its advisors and coordinators?

Like our childcare providers, we select fewer than 1% of available advisors and coordinators at the end of a rigorous process that includes multiple interviews, personality and aptitude assessments. Beverly advisors and coordinators go through trial periods and are constantly monitored by our team and your childcare advisor to make sure they deliver an outstanding setup with empathy and precision.

How are Beverly Advisors trained?

Every Beverly Advisor undergoes extensive training to become a childcare expert in their local market. They are the best in finding, interviewing, selecting and coordinating caregivers that are top notch in your market. They are also experts in state-of-the-art productivity tools and coordination systems we use internally. They receive continuous support from our recruiting team and research analysts to ensure they can focus on delivering top-quality, timely coordination to our clients.

Does my childcare expense go up when I work with Beverly?

Quite the contrary. Unlike staffing agencies who take commissions or add extra fees on top of their provider fees, working with Beverly often reduces your overall childcare expenses while improving the quality and reliability of care. More importantly, we believe we help families avoid hidden costs that contribute to much larger, more intangible issues around health and relationships.

What is included in Beverly membership fee?

Your one-time membership fee grants you Lifetime Access to the Beverly team and unlocks your first year of Support Essentials that's designed to make your hiring and performance management easier.

What is NOT included in Beverly membership fee?

The membership fee does not cover:

  • Salaries or payments to caregivers (babysitters, nannies or mother's helpers) or any expenses they incur while providing care for your family.
  • Hiring placement fees for "Backup" or "Long-Term" plans.
  • Any add-ons explicitly not included in your service package.
Why is Beverly pricing model different from agencies?

We believe the pure-agency model is broken. Staffing engagements are transactional, riddled with accountability issues and the variable fees agencies add on top of caregiver fees are unfair to the caregivers, as they artificially constrain demand and make performance management difficult. But more importantly, we believe families need a much more robust system of selection, orchestration, scheduling and quality control to really solve the pain points they experience every day.

Does your pricing change for multiple kids?

No, our plan pricing is based on the setup packages rather than the number of kids. With that said, some caregivers do vary their pricing based on the number of kids they are asked to care for.

If I decide now, how long will it take for me to get started?

We suggest reaching out several weeks before you think you want to get started on your setup. Once your membership is confirmed, your team typically kicks-off your services within a few days. For long-term hiring plans we recommend planning for a ~5-week end-to-end period until your caregiver starts, including screenings, interviews, trials and contract negotiation. Even though we see many cases where it takes less time we believe it's prudent to plan for a conservative duration.

What does Beverly expect of me in this partnership?

We are on a mission to bring the best talent and systems in the industry and we view our relationship with you as a collaborative partnership. To ensure the best possible childcare setup, we ask for clear, timely, and open communication. Your feedback helps your team tailor their services precisely to your needs and address any adjustments quickly.

Who do I contact if I have an issue with my service performance?

If you encounter any issues, your dedicated Advisor is your first point of contact. She will address your concerns promptly and ensure that any service adjustments are made to maintain the high standards you expect.

How well do my advisors know my city?

Your assigned advisors are specialized experts in your local market. This ensures they are able to properly oversee your family team, know your market and have a consistent network of quality caregivers they can connect you for your family team.

How many clients do my advisors work with?

We only work with a small group of families every month. Each advisor is assigned to a select group of clients who are almost always in your local area, allowing them to provide personalized attention, keep your sitters accountable across the entire member network, and focus on delivering exceptional service within your local parameters.

How do I communicate with my Beverly advisors?

You can communicate with your advisors via text, email, or phone, whichever is most convenient for you for quick support. In most cases, however, you will find email to be the easiest platform to plan, update and communicate pre and post hiring.

Can I give Beverly as a gift?

Absolutely. Our services make a wonderful gift for new parents, kids, grandchildren or friends. Check out our "Give a Gift" page and contact us to customize the perfect plan for your loved ones.

Can a Beverly Advisor work with my own assistant(s)?

Yes, your Beverly team can coordinate with your existing assistants or support staff to ensure seamless care and management.

Can I choose my Beverly team?

We carefully match our clients with the best-fit advisors based on their timing, preferences and location, among several other key criteria around specific needs. Our clients do not have visibility into many of these variables, and therefore are not able to choose their own teams.

How much transparency should I expect?

Transparency is at the heart of our service. You should expect to receive clear updates, real-time communication, quick response times and detailed progress reports throughout your membership.

What do I do if things aren't working out?

A Beverly client and their team invest substantial amount of time and energy into their partnership. We know things don't always work out sometimes. If it happens, your Advisor will work closely with you to address your concerns and review aspects of your service that requires a performance evaluation. If that doesn't work either we may review your assignment to figure out the best next steps, including a reassignment depending on availabilities.

Who are my caregivers employed by?

Long-Term caregivers you hire through Beverly are employed directly by you, with Beverly facilitating the selection, hiring, coordination and performance management process to make it seamless for you. Backup caregivers however can be employed by you or by one of our agency partners, depending on their sourcing origin. If you need any help with employment logistics just reach out to your team for suggestions.

What do I do when my Advisor goes on PTO or holiday?

We designed our systems with redundancy. To ensure you are always covered, your second Advisor will arrange temporary coverage and keep your childcare setup running during your Advisor's time off. All our systems are also set up to provide context continuity for seamless transfer as circumstances require.

What happens if my Advisor is no longer working at Beverly?

Departures are a part of life. If your Advisor leaves, your team will promptly assign a replacement to ensure continuity. Your new Advisor will be fully briefed and trained to maintain comparable levels of operational performance. In many cases your new Advisor will also get a chance to work side by side with your old Advisor for a seamless transition.

What is your policy around system security, privacy and confidentiality?

Beverly is built on comparable storage, encryption, client-advisor confidentiality and privacy protocols as the leading law, technology and service enterprises in the US. We only gather information to make our services personalized for you. This means we might ask your information to procure the right service or connect you with the provider. We don't share your information with 3rd parties unrelated to our business operation without your consent. They also go through comprehensive privacy training, and sign privacy & confidentiality agreements as part of their working arrangement. Breach of confidentiality is cause for immediate termination and legal action. We consistently log when a user accesses a clients' account details or makes any changes.

No you don't. Your initial payment is processed through a fully encrypted secure portal hosted by Stripe.

Our team helps with the coordination to make sure availability times match.

How many caregivers does Beverly assign to each family?

It depends on every family's needs. 10 hours of childcare sometimes requires a different setup than 40 hours. With that said, we work to keep the team sizes small for both families as well as providers. It is uncommon for a family to need more than 3-4 providers, including back up and pediatric nurse roles.

That's why your coordinator team is there for. They will work closely with you to address your concerns and review aspects of your service that requires a reevaluation. Yes, once you are onboarded, we value referrals and offer incentives for successful recommendations.

We prioritize experienced caregivers, but occasionally consider newcomers who have intensive experience in childcare field and outstanding credentials. If you believe you have a shot at being great at what you do, you can still apply.
