Evening Nanny & Mother’s Helper

Part-Time | Laurel Heights, San Francisco (94118)

We are currently seeking an experienced Evening Nanny & Mother’s Helper for a kind, busy family in the Laurel Heights neighborhood. This role is perfect for a "go-getter" who thrives on anticipating needs and smoothing the evening transitions for a young, growing family.

Quick Facts
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM) + Saturday evening date nights.

  • Compensation: $30–$35 per hour.

  • Location: Laurel Heights, San Francisco, CA (94118).

  • Children: 4-month-old infant and 2.5-year-old toddler.

  • Focus: Bedtime Routines & Household Flow.

The Opportunity: Easing the Evening Flow

This is a pivotal role for a caregiver who understands that the hours between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM are the busiest for any household. The family is looking for a trusted partner who can step in with a calm presence and a hands-on, helper mindset.

You will function as a hybrid of a nanny and a mother’s helper, providing attentive care for the children while simultaneously looking for ways to lighten the parents' load. Whether it’s facilitating a smooth transition from playtime to bedtime or resetting the kitchen after dinner, your goal is to help the evening run seamlessly for the entire family.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attuned Childcare: Provide warm, emotionally grounded care for a 4-month-old and a 2.5-year-old.

  • Bedtime Routine Support: Assist with dinner, baths, and bedtime rituals through developmentally appropriate and engaging activities.

  • Mother’s Helper Support: Proactively anticipate household needs—assisting with childcare-related tasks and ensuring parents feel supported during the evening rush.

  • Household Stewardship: Manage light tasks such as kitchen cleanup, loading the dishwasher, tidying play areas, and resetting the home for the following day.

  • Collaborative Partnership: Partner closely with parents to maintain open communication and shared expectations for the children’s care.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Experienced: 3–5+ years of professional childcare experience, with specific expertise in both infant and toddler stages.

  • Proactive: A self-directed "go-getter" who doesn't wait for a list of chores but naturally sees where an extra set of hands is needed.

  • Calm & Engaging: Brings a steady, warm energy to the home during high-energy transition times.

  • Strong Communicator: Values a collaborative mindset and professional communication with parents.

  • Certified: CPR and First-Aid Certified (Current).
