Nanny & Household Manager

Full-Time | Mill Valley, CA (94941)

We are currently seeking a reliable, warm, and highly organized Nanny/Household Manager for a kind, growing family in Mill Valley. This is a premier, long-term opportunity for a professional who thrives in a dynamic role and is excited to grow alongside a family during a joyous season of expansion.

Quick Facts
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (plus occasional date nights).

  • Compensation: $40–$45/hour + Medical Stipend.

  • Start Date: ASAP.

  • Location: Mill Valley, CA (94941).

  • Current Focus: A bright 3-year-old (Charlie), two friendly Golden Retrievers, and a new baby arriving in July 2026.

  • Upcoming Focus: Transitioning to include infant care later this year.

The Opportunity: A Dynamic Hybrid Role

This position is designed for a versatile professional who balances nurturing childcare with efficient household operations. The family includes a curious 3-year-old son and is preparing to welcome a new baby later this year.

Since the toddler attends preschool Tuesday through Thursday, this role evolves into a Household Manager position during those hours. The family is looking for a "pitch-in" partner who can use that time effectively to keep the home running smoothly—managing everything from grocery pickups to meal prep—ensuring that when the child is home, the focus can remain entirely on high-quality, developmental engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Nurturing Toddler Care: Provide loving, attentive care for a fun 3-year-old, focusing on independent play, outdoor exploration, and Montessori-aligned activities.

  • Household Management: During preschool hours, take charge of the home’s "mental load" by running errands (dry cleaning, grocery pickup, returns), managing meal prep, and resetting the kitchen.

  • Safe Transportation: Drive the child to and from preschool (Tuesday–Thursday) and other activities.

  • Infant Transition: Partner with the family as they welcome a new sibling, helping the toddler adjust and eventually providing expert care for the newborn.

  • Collaborative Support: Maintain a tidy, organized environment and partner respectfully with dual-career parents who work from home.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Experienced: 3–5+ years of professional childcare experience with a strong background in both toddler and infant care.

  • Proactive Manager: Experience in household management with an "anticipate-the-need" attitude.

  • Montessori-Minded: Familiarity with or training in Montessori philosophy (independence-focused care) is a significant plus.

  • Emotionally Intelligent: Warm, nurturing, and capable of helping a toddler navigate the transition of becoming a big brother.

  • Logistics: Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required (car seats provided).

  • Bonus Skills: Fluency in Spanish and a willingness to travel with the family are highly valued.
